Public workshops will be held on October 13, 2025, to discuss a new Medicaid benefit for Behavioral Health Training Clinics, and on October 14, 2025, to establish Rehabilitative Residential Mental Health Care as a covered service.
Two upcoming Nevada Medicaid public workshops will discuss proposed new benefits and covered services for behavioral health that may also relate to crisis services.
October 13, 2025 - Public Workshop
Topic: Creation of Medicaid Services Manual (MSM) Chapter 4500 – Behavioral Health Training Clinic
Purpose: To discuss the development of a new Medicaid benefit for Behavioral Health Training Clinics, as required by Senate Bill (SB) 353, passed during the 83rd Legislative Session (2025). This includes a proposed Medicaid State Plan Amendment (SPA).
October 14, 2025 - Public Workshop
Topic: Revisions to MSM Chapter 400 – Mental Health and Alcohol/Substance Use Services
Purpose: To present and gather public comment on proposed updates aligning with Assembly Bill (AB) 514, which establishes Rehabilitative Residential Mental Health Care (RRMHC) as a Medicaid-covered service. This legislation directs the Division of Nevada Medicaid to ensure RRMHC services are reimbursable for appropriately licensed providers. The goal is to enhance the mental health continuum of care by providing a structured residential option for individuals with complex behavioral health needs prior to reintegration into the community.
The agendas and supporting materials, including information on how to join the meetings, are available on the Nevada Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) website at https://dhcfp.nv.gov/Public/AdminSupport/PublicNotices/.
