A Safe Place for Help

"Safe places for help" are locations where people can get support, safety, and resources for an extended period when needed to navigate a mental health or substance use crisis. They are a key part of the crisis care continuum for situations where 988 contact or mobile response efforts are unable to stabilize a person, requiring more time and support to de-escalate the crisis. They can also offer walk-in access where individuals in need can receive crisis stabilization services, either on their own or with support from family and friends.

Current Crisis Stabilization Services in Nevada

The Coalition is working to build and maintain a complete inventory of all crisis stabilization services in Nevada. This is being done in two phases. The first phase covers community-based facilities that provide crisis stabilization services. Use the links below to access the most recent data about crisis stabilization facilities, and to submit new data or corrections.

(Microsoft Excel file download)

A second phase (timing TBD) will capture data about crisis stabilization services designed specifically for children and youth. For children and families, best practice guidelines call for different approaches that emphasize wraparound services, home-based services, and other community-based services that help to keep children and families at home.
